A bit about Cissy
Cissy is a qualified sociodramatist committed to community-led development, combining systemic thinking with grassroots action. She is passionate about creating opportunities for people to have a voice and participate fully in meetings, communities, organisations and social change processes. Her approach is collaborative, practical and deeply relational.
Drawing on sociodrama, community development and participatory practice, Cissy works with the dynamics of inclusion, exclusion and power, helping groups and communities build stronger connections, greater participation and social cohesion. She is not afraid to speak up for social justice, challenge unhelpful systems, or roll up her sleeves to help turn ideas into action.
With more than 20 years' experience working alongside communities and government, integrity sits at the heart of her work. In 2015, she founded Community Think to bring together her belief that meaningful change happens when people work together. Through Community Think, she has led campaigns, place-based community development initiatives, community engagement processes, workshops, facilitation, training and supervision.
Based in Petone, Lower Hutt, Aotearoa New Zealand, Cissy enjoys strong coffee, cinnamon brioche, travelling, and building connections wherever she goes.
